We recently completed a comprehensive renovation of a block of flats situated in the heart of Chester city centre. Originally constructed in the 1990s, this building had fallen into disrepair and was in desperate need of a modern upgrade. After purchasing the property off-market from a previous landlord, we stripped it back to its core and renewed every aspect from start to finish.
One of the primary focuses of our renovation was to upgrade the thermal values of the building to meet current building regulations. We improved the insulation in the roof and insulated all external walls, significantly enhancing the thermal efficiency and upgrading the EPC ratings. This not only benefits the environment but also contributes to lower energy bills for future tenants.
The entire building underwent a complete rewire, and we installed a full new gas central heating system across all apartments, ensuring a warm and comfortable living space. New double-glazed windows were fitted throughout, which not only improve energy efficiency but also enhance the aesthetic appeal of the building.
We also upgraded all external areas of the property, including the eight parking spaces, ensuring that residents have convenient access right at their doorstep. Inside, all ceilings and floors were renewed, soundproofed, and fireproofed, effectively creating six individual, fully self-contained soundproof apartments that promote a better quality of life for tenants.
Each bathroom has been upgraded to a high-end specification, featuring large format tiles and top-quality fixtures and fittings. Similarly, the kitchens have been fitted out to our usual high standard, complete with matching washer dryers and fridge freezers, ready for tenants to move in without delay. Throughout the apartments, we installed LVT flooring, while the communal areas were finished with Axminster carpets, combining durability with elegance.
This renovation exceeded our expectations, resulting in an exceptional property that offers a fantastic standard of living right in the heart of Chester. We are confident that the tenants will enjoy their new homes for many years to come.
